Fun Wine Giveaway for Valentine’s Day

Wine Giveaway for Valentine's Day

It’s about time for me to do another giveaway! This time it’s a Wine Giveaway for Valentine’s Day! The entry form is at the bottom of this post, so make sure to enter the drawing before you leave.

I don’t believe the entry form appears in the WordPress Reader app which I use all the time; but it should appear on the actual post on the live website instead. If you know a trick to make it appear in the Reader app, please let me know.

The story as to why I do this particular type of giveaway has already been posted here if you wanted to check-out my original giveaway post. But for a really quick summary, I can do that too:

I have a friend that sells Scout & Cellar wines. I want to support her. But I also don’t enjoy wine personally. So I’ve been purchasing from her (to be a supportive friend) but to buy as gifts for other people who would actually enjoy it. So it’s a bit of a win-win for me, because I’m usually stumped as to what gifts to buy for others anyway. It was definitely my go-to gift over the holidays.

But definitely enter if this is a gift you’d enjoy. The last day to enter is this-coming Sunday February 14th – which is why this is named my Wine Giveaway for Valentine’s Day! I’ll announce the winner on this blog the next day Monday, as well as email them directly.

There are 4 eligibility requirements to be able to win; they are listed below on the entry form. So be sure to review them before entering to make sure you can receive the prize. ๐Ÿ™‚

The last time I did this type of giveaway, samosaswmimosas was our winner! You can check out her Instagram by clicking on her name. And she was kind enough to send me a photo of what she received. I used it as the featured pic on this post.

Anyhow, that’s all the scoop I have about this. I wish you all good luck! And if you’re not eligible for this specific prize, I’m on the lookout for a different type of prize to offer in the future with a wider reach. So just stay tuned!

If you know someone who would like to enter this Wine Giveaway for Valentine’s Day, please feel free to point them in this direction.

Good luck!

7 Things to do Instead of Watching the SuperBowl

7 Things to do Instead of Watching the SuperBowl

What are you all planning to do during the SuperBowl? I’ll be doing at least 1 thing out of my list of “7 Things To Do Instead of Watching the SuperBowl” tomorrow night.

I’m not going to watch it because it just doesn’t interest me. Lol, I don’t even enjoy the commercials or the half-time shows. Am I weird?

My additional problem is that my regularly-scheduled programming for Sunday night is “90 Day Fiance” and they are NOT airing a new episode tomorrow night so now my routine is totally ruined. And I love my routine.

So I’m sitting here now and trying to create a list of things to do instead of watching the SuperBowl tomorrow:

    1. Watch a movie. I spent some time this afternoon searching cable TV for a free movie that I could go ahead and record now, and then watch later commercial-free by fast-forwarding. I did find a couple Lifetime movies that I haven’t seen yet and I’ve recorded them so I’m ready tomorrow night if I need them.
    2. Meal-Prep. I can go ahead and cook a family meal for Monday night or Tuesday night during the SuperBowl. And then I can easily re-heat them later in the next couple of days. If I do that, I’ll have to decide on a recipe soon because I still need to buy groceries.
    3. Blog or Blog-Related Social Media. This actually might be the option I choose for myself. I do have difficulty finding the time to dedicate to my blog, so I might spend tomorrow night catching-up.
    4. Laundry. Lol, yes you read that right. I’d rather do laundry than watch the SuperBowl.
    5. Pick-Up the House. I always put-off this task at home because I live with monsters that leave all their stuff out and never put anything back where it belongs. To give you an example of how out of control they are… they don’t even SHUT cabinets they’ve opened. Monsters, lol. So no matter how hard I try to keep the house straight, it just feels like a futile effort for me. I’m so defeated. But maybe while they’re distracted with the SuperBowl, I can enjoy a few hours of organization.
    6. Catch-Up on Some Friendships. I could initiate some text conversations with friends I’ve lost touch with during the pandemic. If they reply back, I’ll be able to engage and catch-up with them. If they don’t reply back, it’s ok. At least I tried.
    7. Taxes. I think all my 2020 statements and W2s have finally arrived in the mail, so I technically could do this. But I really don’t want to. Lol, I’ll be really desperate tomorrow night if I end-up doing this. Maybe I’ll just prep for it or something.

Anyway, I’m sure I’ll find someway to keep busy, and find things to do instead of watching the SuperBowl. What will you be doing tomorrow night? Whatever you do, I hope you enjoy it! ๐Ÿ™‚

    Get to Know Me Better

    Get to Know Me Better

Happy Wednesday! I’ve been a bit stumped lately as to what to write about so I figured I’d chat about myself a bit and let you all get to know me better.

Let’s see… I was born in Singapore. But I’ve lived in the United States most of my life. I’ve lived in California, Texas, and now in Tennessee. I think I enjoyed living in Texas the best, where everything is just bigger and better. ๐Ÿ™‚

I just got my U.S. citizenship last year.

I have a 9 year old daughter who is incredibly smart and athletic, with a ton of friends. She’s definitely the complete opposite of me. Every weekend the neighborhood kids knock on our door for her to play and I’m so happy she’s included and so active. Otherwise, she’d be on her iPad or watching YouTube all day so I’m especially thankful for her friendships.

I have sleep issues. One major problem is anxiety. If I’m stressed or worried about something then I just lie there all night feeling my heart pumping like crazy bc I can’t turn-off all the thoughts in my head. Another problem is that I used to think my house was haunted and I would “see” things in the dark while I was trying to sleep. So I would keep the tv on all night to prevent that which also messed up my sleeping.

My parents are retired. My mom has survived cancer 3x so she’s the strongest person I know. But it also gives me fear that she’s compromised if she gets sick again. She’s definitely not 100% like she used to be prior to cancer. She’s probably around 60% of her former self now.

Hm I’m not sure what else… I hope the small amount of info I’ve posted here helps you get to know me better. Do you have any tidbits about yourself you’d like to share with me?

    Outstanding Blogger Award

The timing couldn’t have been any better for me to be nominated for the Outstanding Blogger Award, since I’ve been stumped lately as to what to post next.

So many thanks to Delicate and Brutal for nominating me at her award post today, and for saving me from writer’s block this week! I appreciate you girlfriend! ๐Ÿ™‚

    The Rules:

    1. Provide a link to the creatorโ€™s original award post.

    2. Answer the questions provided.

    3. Create 7 unique questions.

    4. Nominate up to 10 bloggers.

    5. Ensure that they are aware of their nomination.

    6. Now letโ€™s continue to support and cheer each other throughout 2021 for the Outstanding Blogger Award!

    Questions byย Delicate and Brutal:

    1. Tell us your 2021 goals for your blog.ย I’m unsure what my ultimate goal for my blog is, but in the meantime, I have the short-term goals to keep creating content and to keep growing an audience.

    2. How do you plan on implementing your goals for your blog in 2021?ย I’ve been staying relatively active on social media for my blog. Facebook is probably the account that I go to the most because I actually find alot of helpful blog information there in the groups I have joined. So, I’m getting an education out of it too.

    3. What inspires you to write your blogs?ย Mostly it’s my own personal life events that inspire me to write my blog. The tricky part is to make it interesting to others. ๐Ÿ™‚

    4. Why did you begin your blog?ย I started blogging because of the pandemic lockdowns and I was starved for attention from other adults. I never leave my home anymore except for necessities, because my job enables me to work-from-home. I never even dress for the day anymore, and it’s going to be almost a year of being stuck at home everyday. It’s depressing. Blogging is my only escape. ๐Ÿ™

    5. What have you learned about yourself in writing your blogs?ย  I think I’m starting to feel more confident about myself because of blogging. I’m expressing myself online and I’m getting positive reinforcement from it, instead of the negative reinforcement I always get when I express myself in my real life. It makes me feel good about myself.

    6. What would you change about your blog?ย I like to change how amateur it looks. I mean, besides choosing a theme, I really haven’t done much else to customize it. I’d like to make it look more professional I just don’t have the skills to do so.

    7. How do you feel about collaborating on your blog?ย I would welcome collaboration. I haven’t been asked to do a collaboration is why I haven’t done one yet. And I don’t have any ideas on how to initiate a collaboration. But I’d enjoy doing it if it makes sense for me and my collaborator.

I am leaving the same 7 questions for my nominees.

Here are my nominees (if I don’t nominate you, but you’d still like to be included, please let me know and I’ll gladly add your link here too! Don’t be shy!) :

    1. Crandew
    2. Wandering Explorer Travel
    3. The World’s Common Tater
    4. Adventures with the Michigan Mama
    5. Missy Bee London
    6. The Yorkshire Dreamer
    7. Miss Suzanne

I hope everyone has a great day! ๐Ÿ™‚

When Gifts Cause Problems, Part 2

    When Gifts Cause Problems

Everyone remember the lady that was sending me random gifts by mail? If you need a refresher, here’s a link to the original post: When Gifts Cause Problems.

I had to tell her to stop bc it was getting to be too much… And then I stopped talking to her bc I didn’t want to encourage her to send more…

    Well, I have an update…

… I just received a new gift from her in the mail today.

Considering that I haven’t chatted with her since I told her to stop, this was really unexpected. And it’s much more uncomfortable to me.

Another thing that’s bothering me about these gifts is that my husband even thinks it’s incredibly weird and he’s questioning who’s sending me all these gifts that are signed with hearts all over. I keep telling him it’s a lady I met on the internet but the more gifts that arrive, the less he believes me. I really don’t need this stress in my life.

And I don’t know how to make her stop. I’ve very clearly told her to stop. And I’ve even stopped chatting with her, bc I feel like engaging with her will only encourage her to keep sending. She doesn’t put a return address on her mail, so how can I block her mail from me without a return address? I can’t even return-to-sender so she knows I’m not accepting it.

Ugh, what would you do if you were me?

    We have a winner!

    Hi everyone!

I did my drawing for my wine giveaway tonight and we have a winner!

We only had 8 eligible entries, which meant the odds were super-good this time! Nobody entered on my FB so that was a bust. But between my blog and my IG, we had 8 eligible entries.

I used the randomizer formula on excel…

… and samosaswmimosas is the winner. Congratulations!

Don’t feel bad if you didn’t win this time. I expect to be invited to more of these wine parties, and I expect to do more of these giveaways to justify my attendance. So stay tuned! ๐Ÿฅ‚๐Ÿท๐Ÿพ

    My First Giveaway! Wine!

Hi everyone! Trying out this whole giveaway thing and I hope it works out. Do any of you want to win some wine?!

I have a friend that sells Scout & Cellar wine. She’s having one of those selling parties this Friday and I am going. I’m going to eat her delicious food and chat with her other friends and I’m going to buy a couple bottles of wine from her in support.

But… I’m not really a wine drinker. I actually don’t like wines, champaigns, or beers. Lol I don’t even know how to spell champaign, it looks wrong to me here. When I do drink, I prefer the mixed drinks with either vodka or rum.

Anyhow, I’m still going to support my friend and buy a couple bottles from her. But one of you all will receive it instead bc I don’t want it.

I’ll randomly draw the winner Wednesday night. I’ll contact you and you’ll tell me what kind of wine you like – white, red, pinot, etc. You’ll have to give me your shipping address too (so make sure you’re comfortable giving an internet stranger your shipping address). And I’ll go to my friend’s party Friday night, place the order, I’ll pay for it, and I’ll put YOUR shipping address on the order.

You do have to be eligible to have this wine shipped to you. You must be:

    1) At least 21 years old. The shipment delivery will require to see your ID as proof of being at least 21. They won’t leave it at your door. No P.O. Boxes either. If you won’t be home for delivery, you can use the tracking number (I’ll give it to you) to hold the shipment at your nearest FedEx office for you to pick up at your convenience.

    2) In the U.S. only – I’m sorry my international friends! And the following States cannot be shipped to, so please don’t enter if you live in one of these States: Arkansas, Delaware, Kentucky, Mississippi, Rhode Island, Utah.

Ok, I think that’s about it. Geez, it looks like alot of rules, I’m sorry about that. I thought this would be simple.

To enter the drawing, you have to be following either my blog, my FB page, or my IG. And just leave me a comment on any of those platforms that you want to enter and that you are eligible.

So that’s all the scoop I have. I’ll draw the winner Wednesday night. Good luck everyone! ๐Ÿท๐Ÿพ๐Ÿฅ‚

Here’s a photo of what I ordered last time I went to one of her selling parties. I plan on bringing these as gifts to any holiday events I go to…
