That Time I PhotoBombed Royalty

When going through my old photos, I found this one where I photobombed royalty when I found myself in the same room as a member of the British royal family about 4-5 years ago.

This was a business event for me and I had to make a work appearance at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre in London. And Princess Anne was there as well, also making an appearance.

PS: It was Paul at Lightly Seared on the Reality Grill that correctly identified her for me as Princess Anne, the Queen’s only daughter. Thanks so much Paul! I originally could not recall who she was. Oops. πŸ€—

My Site Migration Experience Wasn’t Great

Ok. I think I finally got everything back up and running after attempting my site migration from to If so, then I’m completely self-hosted! Woo! And I’m NEVER going through that again folks, so this is it.

None of the WordPress migrator plugins worked for me. Because I was originally on Premium, which doesn’t allow plugins. So wherever you read that there is a special migrator plugin that makes moving-over your site super-easy… it doesn’t apply to you unless you are on Business or already. I’m kinda upset they never clarified that. The wording always implied that the plugin works for WordPress. Period.

I feel tricked, bc I didn’t find out about that criteria until AFTER I already paid and started the installation process.

I even contacted SiteGround support about it, and they didn’t help me. They explained that the plugin wouldn’t apply to me and referred me to WordPress support. So now I don’t even believe what they say about excellent customer support either.

Anyhow, so I had to move over everything using the exporter / importer tool, which I actually don’t have any complaints over. THAT was super easy. But I’m still upset that the original path I had intended and planned for was denied to me. AND I’m still upset that I had to figure out my new course of action completely on my own. SiteGround support didn’t help me figure that out.

So after exporting everything, I did have to setup my theme, widgets, menus, categories, etc all over again. None of that stuff got transferred over. Also, none of my followers carried over either. That matter became another engagement with SiteGround support and they again referred me to WordPress. Didn’t help me at all.

I had to spend alot of time Googling that solution on my own, and finally installed the JetPack plugin for it. So far, it seems to have worked, but I’m not 100% sure.

Anyhow, I think I’ve gotten to a stopping point. I’m tired of working on it. Still kinda sour over the whole thing too. But will you all please let me know if something isn’t working for you anymore? I’m still in fix-it mode over this whole thing.

And I’m especially worried about Comments. They weren’t working last night, and I’m not sure if they’re fixed yet. I’m guessing the problem might originate with comments from Reader, but I’m not sure. I’ve reached out to WordPress support about this more than 8 hours ago, and I finally received an email response back from them saying they don’t know what my problem is. So I’m on my own. Again.

I’m not doing anything crazy with my site, so the fact that 3 separate instances of reaching out to support for basic needs have gone unmet, have left a poor impression with me. Because any direction at all from them, would have saved me HOURS of Google research and trial-and-error on my own.

I hope you all have been enjoying a better weekend than I have.

Delicious Spinach Tomato Tortellini

Spinach Tomato Tortellini

Anybody else tired of thanksgiving turkey yet? If you’re like me and craving something completely different, then try this spinach tomato tortellini recipe. It’s delicious, one of my favorite meals, and also quite easy to make.

You’ll need the following ingredients…

1 pkg (20 oz.) refrigerated three cheese tortellini
3 Tbsp butter
2 Tbsp garlic, minced
3 Tbsp all-purpose flour
1 tsp onion powder
1 1/4 cups milk (I use whole milk, but 2% should work too)
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 can (14.5 oz.) petite diced tomatoes (undrained)
7oz fresh spinach (I buy the 10oz package, and save the remainder for a salad later)
3 Tbsp chopped fresh basil
2 tsp chopped fresh oregano
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
1/2 cup finely shredded parmesan cheese, plus more for serving
Red pepper flakes, for serving (optional)

And then follow these steps:

  1. Cook tortellini according to directions listed on package.
  2. Meanwhile, in a large and deep skillet or saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic, flour and onion powder and cook, stirring constantly, 1 minute.
  3. While whisking, slowly pour in milk and cream, then whisk until smooth.
  4. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture begins barely simmer and thicken, then add tomatoes, spinach, basil, oregano and parmesan. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Reduce heat slightly and cook several minutes longer until sauce has thickened and cheese has melted. Remove from heat.
  6. Toss cooked and drained tortellini into sauce mixture.
  7. Serve warm sprinkled with additional parmesan cheese and optional red pepper flakes.

Easily Change Your Blog URL and Domain Name

Change Your Blog URL and Domain Name

I was worried earlier today about how big of a problem it would be to change your blog url and domain name. I wanted all my posts and followers to stay unaffected, but I was scared they would all be wiped out instead.

But it was literally the easiest thing possible.

I am a newbie to Blogging, so I had to Google how to do this.

I found a single menu item in my that did it all. I took a screenshot below of what to do. Just go to “My Site” > “Manage” > “Domains” (Step 1) and you’re on the right page to do it all. If you don’t already have your new url / domain, then select “Add a Domain to this Site” (Step2). And once you have your new url / domain, then select “Change Primary Domain” (Step 3) and you are done with the swap!

And I checked everything out afterwards and I believe it worked! I was still able to access all my followers and they were able to see my next post in their WordPress Reader. Going to my original site now even re-directs to the new site, which is even better than I expected!

So far, I’m happy.

But now I have to change my name on all my social media accounts next. THAT may be where all the hard work comes in. Wish me luck!

How to use Excel to Randomly Pick a Contest Winner

Use Excel to Randomly Pick a Contest Winner

I wanted to share with you all how to use Excel to randomly pick a contest winner. Apparently there are several ways to do this, as I discovered when I did a Google search for it. For those of you that have done this before, what did you use?

I used good ol’ fashioned Excel. I’m on Excel 70% of my day anyway for work so I didn’t want to learn anything new. And, there’s something really comfortable about that spreadsheet view for me. Makes me naturally trust it, for some weirdo reason.

So, I just created a list of all the eligible entries in my spreadsheet. And used the following formula…

For a copy/paste version of it you can use…

The only thing you need to customize, is where you see the “B6:B13” – it appears twice in the formula and those are the fields where MY list is in the spreadsheet. You just change those fields to match where YOUR list is. And that’s it. You can now use Excel to randomly pick a contest winner.

Super simple, right? If you give it a try, let me know how my steps worked out for you… If I need to include more info or details, etc.

Have a great day!

We have a winner!

Hi everyone!

I did my drawing for my wine giveaway tonight and we have a winner!

We only had 8 eligible entries, which meant the odds were super-good this time! Nobody entered on my FB so that was a bust. But between my blog and my IG, we had 8 eligible entries.

I used the randomizer formula on excel…

… and samosaswmimosas is the winner. Congratulations!

Don’t feel bad if you didn’t win this time. I expect to be invited to more of these wine parties, and I expect to do more of these giveaways to justify my attendance. So stay tuned! πŸ₯‚πŸ·πŸΎ

My First Giveaway! Wine!

Hi everyone! Trying out this whole giveaway thing and I hope it works out. Do any of you want to win some wine?!

I have a friend that sells Scout & Cellar wine. She’s having one of those selling parties this Friday and I am going. I’m going to eat her delicious food and chat with her other friends and I’m going to buy a couple bottles of wine from her in support.

But… I’m not really a wine drinker. I actually don’t like wines, champaigns, or beers. Lol I don’t even know how to spell champaign, it looks wrong to me here. When I do drink, I prefer the mixed drinks with either vodka or rum.

Anyhow, I’m still going to support my friend and buy a couple bottles from her. But one of you all will receive it instead bc I don’t want it.

I’ll randomly draw the winner Wednesday night. I’ll contact you and you’ll tell me what kind of wine you like – white, red, pinot, etc. You’ll have to give me your shipping address too (so make sure you’re comfortable giving an internet stranger your shipping address). And I’ll go to my friend’s party Friday night, place the order, I’ll pay for it, and I’ll put YOUR shipping address on the order.

You do have to be eligible to have this wine shipped to you. You must be:

1) At least 21 years old. The shipment delivery will require to see your ID as proof of being at least 21. They won’t leave it at your door. No P.O. Boxes either. If you won’t be home for delivery, you can use the tracking number (I’ll give it to you) to hold the shipment at your nearest FedEx office for you to pick up at your convenience.

2) In the U.S. only – I’m sorry my international friends! And the following States cannot be shipped to, so please don’t enter if you live in one of these States: Arkansas, Delaware, Kentucky, Mississippi, Rhode Island, Utah.

Ok, I think that’s about it. Geez, it looks like alot of rules, I’m sorry about that. I thought this would be simple.

To enter the drawing, you have to be following either my blog, my FB page, or my IG. And just leave me a comment on any of those platforms that you want to enter and that you are eligible.

So that’s all the scoop I have. I’ll draw the winner Wednesday night. Good luck everyone! 🍷🍾πŸ₯‚

Here’s a photo of what I ordered last time I went to one of her selling parties. I plan on bringing these as gifts to any holiday events I go to…
